Item Description

Fluorite specimens are EXTREMELY RARE from this old silver mining district. Major production ceased by 1887, though there was intermittent activity later. Sharp, translucent, octahedrons to 2.2 cm, with frosted faces have light mint-green exteriors and amber interiors. The matrix plate is tightly intergrown quartz crystals. Rich purple fluorescence. Very fine and rare combination material from the Art Soregaroli Collection. Art was the Co-Editor of the large format, 2010, 544 page, Peru - Paradise of Minerals book. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
