A huge 8.5 x 8.5 cm fluorite cube dominates this impressive small cabinet from the Purple Rain Pocket from the Lady Annabella Mine at famed Weardale in the ol English fluorite mining district. The lustrous, rich purple, intergrown, stepped-growth cubes are highlighted by the striking, gemmy to translucent, color-zoned corners on the large cube and by the rich included "clouds" of contrasting secondary fluorite. it is nearly complete all around: The left edge is contacted, where another crystal once lay, but there is very little damage per se. Mass is 932 grams or 2.1 pounds. From a USA collector who diligently acquired specimens from every pocket. An expressive, bi-colored fluorite combination with a remarkable large crystal.
