Item Description
Glassy, lustrous, pastel-green, fluorite cubes form a very sculptural and impressive large plate from the famous Xianghualing Mine of China. The cubes, to 3.6 cm, are etched/lightly frosted and have stepped-growth faces. The interiors of the cubes are translucent and lighter green with the outer edges being gemmy and more vibrant green. There is even a cluster of small, glassy, calcite rhombs on a fluorite face at the top of the piece. Essentially pristine, except for very trivial periphery wear. Excellent, highly representative example of the species and noted locale. Very pretty light purple fluorescence. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection. BETTER IN PERSON.
