Item Description

Intergrown, bi-colored fluorite cubes form a sculptural large specimen from the famous Blackdene Mine. The pretty lavender to bone-white cubes, to 4.1 cm, are very glassy and lustrous and are transparent to translucent. The cubes have lavender edge phantoms, adding much character. Green fluorite at the base is a fine accessory. Bright purple fluorescence, as you would expect! The noted periphery wear is certainly only modest detraction. Excellent and showy large bi-colored fluorite from this famous old first lead, then fluorite mine, that closed in 1987. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1995. The piece has several fine display views.
