Item Description

A classic Southern Illinois fluorite form - the cleavage octahedron. Miners would chip these out of high-grade massive fluorite as gifts or to pass the time. This classic, translucent and lustrous, bi-colored cutie rich has rich golden-amber color with two very nifty purple corners. Most cleavage octos were a single color. Common in the 1950 and 60s, you don't see many around anymore in this size and fine bi-colored quality. Purple fluorescence. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
