Item Description
The Malkhan pegmatites have produced many very fine, gemmy to translucent to opaque elbaites in recent years. This astonishing bi-colored, parallel-growth crystal has incredible form. The amazing complex terminations range from rich grape-purple to cranberry-red to golden-amber to yellow-green. The crystal has fantastic 360-degree form with fabulous stepped-growth crystals on one side to a smooth prism face on another side. The crystal has very high to matte luster, variable glassiness and is well-striated. The backlit shots GLOW with the interaction of the reds and yellows! Complete all-around and in great shape. One stepped-growth crystal has a dinged termination and two small spots of prism bruising are noted on the backside. Fantastically sculptural, colorful and highly unusual! 187 grams mass. Valued at $1500-2000. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
