Item Description

A classic and colorful, bi-colored, doubly terminated tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. The central part of the gemmy, lustrous, well-striated, beauty is a pleasing olive-green and is flanked on either side with classic, "Himalaya pink" zones. The frosted, pinacoidal termination lies over a 2 mm, pretty teal-blue zone. The densely etched basal termination has a "cityscape look" and is both green and pink. Complete all-around. Contacting, with no damage, per se, is noted on one side, while the other contacted side has minimal side wear. A bit of minor edgewear is noted on both terminations. A highly representative and very colorful tourmaline from this noted locale. 66 grams. Ex Hubert de Monmonier & University of Arizona Museum Collections (definitely an older piece). Valued at $500-600.
