Item Description
A very fine, older and deceptive doubly terminated, gemmy/translucent tourmaline from the 1980s finds at the famous Himalaya Mine. The crystal looks mostly dark under normal light, but GLOWS, when backlit. The modified 'A' termination of this glassy, well-striated crystal is mostly water-clear gem. Strikingly, only one corner of this trigonal crystal is the classic "Himalaya pink"! The rest of the area is straw-yellow to olive-green. Below a sharp to subtle demarcation the crystal turns gemmy grass-green followed by beautiful teal-blue and teal-green layers. A narrow apple-green section underlies the lustrous, matte basal termination. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear on both ends. A fascinating bi-colored Himalaya tourmlaine. Mass is 82 grams.
