Item Description

Bi-colored, lustrous and translucent, dogtooth calcite crystals look like a forest of spikes on this dramatic CABINET plate from the famous Minerva # 1 Mine. The scalenohedrons have creamy/tan bodies and pretty light amber terminations and crystal edges. Very striking. The very few broken or bruised crystals are certainly not a detraction or are hardly noticeable in the dense coverage. This is a classic bi-colored calcite varietal from this noted locale. Ex Schlichter Collection.
