Item Description

Beryllonite is a rare sodium beryllium phosphate mineral, that was not often seen in fine crystallized display specimen until it was discovered in Afghanistan in the early 1990s. Today we can all agree that the finest examples of Beryllonite ever found are those from Afghanistan. This piece is a showy, large and fine quality display specimen featuring a group of chalky white prismatic crystals free of matrix. A small amount of bladed white Albite and black Schorl can be seen on the lower edge and underside of the specimen for a nice touch. The deep striations on the prims along with the alternating areas of white and somewhat colorless hues of the crystals really creates a pleasing effect. Priced at $1,800 retail. I expect the price will only increase in the years to come as these are among the finest Beryllonites in the world, and very little has been found in years.
