Item Description
Beryllonite is a rare sodium beryllium phosphate, and until the discovery in Afghanistan in the 1990s, there were few fine quality specimens on the market. This piece is a showy and fine quality display specimen featuring a group of white prismatic crystals free of matrix. I especially love the slightly diverging group of crystals at the top corner of the specimen, giving the piece a three-dimensional quality rarely seen in this material. The deep striations along with the alternating areas of white and somewhat colorless hues of the crystals really creates a pleasing effect. Priced at $1,800 retail. I expect the price will only increase in the years to come as these are among the finest Beryllonites in the world, and very little has been found in years.
