Item Description
Beryllite is a very rare hydrated Be-silicate with some of the finest examples coming from the famous alkaline Ilimaussaq complex of Greenland. Most of the sculptural blocky two-sided specimen is pastel-pink Ussingite, a rare silicate (non-fluorescent). SW UV light reveals bright green patches of Beryllite on both sides, that are hard to discern under normal light. LW UV light reveals scattered small patches of fluorescent orange Hackmanite. Beryllite and Ussingite combinations of this richness are VERY RARE and desirable from the Ilimaussaq complex. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named. A MUST for the fluorescent or locality collector.
