Item Description

These specimens are some of the most classic Emeralds in the world, and date back hundreds of years in Europe. Most people do not associate Alpine minerals with Emeralds, but these pieces are well known and beloved by the strahlers who collect them. This Emerald crystal will not be winning any awards or cutting fine stones, but - it is from Austria, so the specimen is significant as a locality piece. It is rather gemmy and has good color saturation. The crystal measures 5 mm and is well-placed on the Biotite schist matrix, with a good termination. A highly representative old classic from the Austrian Alps.
