Item Description

Before Pakistan, most people turned to Brazil to get their hands on Aquamarine crystals. Most Brazilian Aquas are single crystals, off matrix, and rarely sharp and lustrous. This piece is a good sharp, lustrous, single crystal with a somewhat silvery blue hue. It's only slightly translucent when backlit, but it's not opaque. There are a few nicks around the edge of the termination, but it doesn't take away from the overall quality of the piece. Minor associated mica and feldspar can be seen on the back of the piece, and it's certainly a worthwhile example of this now hard to find material. A great piece for any gem crystal collector, a collector of Beryls, or even an admirer of Brazilian minerals. Valued at $500.
