Note this is from a rare Brazilian locale, not the more common Afghanistan morganite location. This stunning gem morganite crystal features a beautiful peachy-pink color. Some faces display a glassy luster, allowing a clear view of the crystal’s interior, while others are frosted, creating intriguing contrasts. Likely sourced from an old collection dating back to the 1980s, this crystal still shows traces of the pegmatite matrix, with small albite crystals around it. The crystal’s back was likely attached to the matrix, and the internal fractures visible on the rear may be a result of blasting, a common extraction method at the time when the focus was on obtaining gem material rather than preserving specimens. If this piece had been carefully extracted with the matrix intact and fewer fractures, its value would likely reach five figures.
