Item Description

An uncommon Morganite from this small mine better known for Aquamarines, Kunzites and the occasional Tourmaline, this robust, 7 cm Beryl may be an example from the late 2007 finds. These matrix Beryls (this 60% complete crystal has attached matrix on the back) were some of the best seen since the 90s, and they have a distinct barrel shape and multihued color to them. This single, euhedral crystal is pink with a distinct blue caste, and it ranges from gemmy to translucent. The superb termination is particularly gemmy and lustrous. A very good, representative Morganite for this mine, and it is even better in person. It masses 472 grams! Valued $4500
