Item Description
A rarely seen specimen of pale pink colored Morganite Beryl from the Elizabeth R. Mine in Pala. The crystal shows good blocky hexagonal form with sharp, fairly lustrous faces. It is opaque for all intents and purposes, but good crystals of Morganite are not common from this locality. It's complete on the display side, but it is not complete on the back. If you collect gem pegmatite crystals, worldwide Beryls or minerals from Pala, don't miss out on this one, as it easily dates back 35-40+ years, and is a great time capsule of what the specimens looked like coming out of this locality during that period. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
