Item Description

Glassy and translucent with outstanding pink color, this morganite exhibits the qualities found in fine Afghan morganite specimens. The specimen is only contacted where a portion of an elbaite crystal is visible, o a side. Otherwise, the whole morganite is crystallized, even on the back and base, all around. It is an excellent example of a good morganite with both color and form, whereas the collector usually has to choose between the two in any specimen of moderate price. Its gem weight is 145 grams. From the older Obodda dealer stock which we bought out, and valued by Herb Obodda (who brought it out of Afghanistan) at $2750 some years ago
