A gem heliodor from Ukraine, this is one of the most unusual such examples we have seen. At a substantial 184 grams and the size shown, it is a full small cabinet specimen with robust color - that looks like a really deeply colored spodumene at first glance from a distance. Up close, you see the traditional Heliodor patterning typical of this locality, and you realize it is one of the weirdest and most strangely beautiful examples of a Ukraine heliodor you will ever see. The geometry is mesmerizing - see the video! This is a rare deaccession of a perfect high level gem crystal from the Gene Meieran collection - he does retain a bigger one, but nothing like this. It is a floater, complete all around, with no damage. It is simply unique. We loved it at first sight! Valued $15-20,000.
