Item Description

A gorgeous and fine quality specimen from this contemporary classic locality. The majority of the Beryl crystals from the Pingwu Mine are blue (Aquamarine), but a small percentage are colorless, hence the rarer Goshenite variety. The best of these piece are some of the finest crystals of Goshenite from any locality. This piece features a highly aesthetic and three-dimensional group of rather sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, colorless, crystals showing a combination of unusually tabular habits, and more blocky hexagonal shapes. free of matrix. The largest Goshenite measures 3.5 across. No major damage that I can see, the top of the piece has a bit of embedded white Albite, and the base of the piece is crystallized, so it's close to being a "floater". This certainly is one of the most eye-catching and dramatic Goshenites that we've had to offer, not just from this locality, but anywhere. You just don't see Beryl specimens like this, and the added touch of having a colorless specimen makes it all the more desirable. These are a lot less common on the market than they were several years ago, and it's important to note that tabular Beryl crystals are rare in nature. Valued $5,000.
