Beryl (var: Goshenite)

Item Description

A lovely display piece from this contemporary classic locality. Typically the Beryl crystals from the Pingwu Mine are blue (Aquamarine), but a small percentage are colorless, hence the rarer Goshenite variety. This piece features a pair of rather sharp, lustrous, gemmy, colorless, unusually tabular crystals of Goshenite measuring up to 1.6 cm across, sitting on bladed Muscovite matrix. A few additional smaller Goshenites along with off-white crystals of Albite can be seen as well for a nice touch. No major damage that I can see. These are a lot less common on the market than they were several years ago, and it's important to note that tabular Beryl crystals are rare in nature.
