Item Description

A black and white speckled gneiss is the matrix for many subhedral crystals of beryl var. emerald. The partially crystrallized emeralds are lustrous and translucent with a rich green color. NOTE this is a solid geological reference specimen for the locality, but has no good crystals, per se - I almost hesitate to put it to auction as it really is "just a rock", but then even such have educational value from interesting deposits like this. old specimen, too
