Item Description
These specimens are some of the most classic Emeralds in the world, and date back hundreds of years in Europe. Most people do not associate Alpine minerals with Emeralds, but these pieces are well known and beloved by the strahlers who collect them. This specimen features a few fairly sharp, lustrous, beautiful green colored hexagonal prisms of Emerald measuring up to 6 mm sitting atop Biotite Mica schist matrix, A highly representative old classic from the Austrian Alps. It's hard to tell from the photos, but the larger crystal is actually fairly gemmy, better than most I've seen from the area. Ex Bill Larson Collection.
