Item Description

Although Emerald crystals have been found in fine display specimens from various classic localities like, Colombia, Austria, Afghanistan or even the modern material from Ethiopia, people tend to forget about the impressive (though rarely gem quality) crystals from Bahia, Brazil. The entry for the Carnaíba, locality on mindat.org states, "The mica schists of Carnaíba, may contain the most extensive emerald deposits in the world." With that said, good quality display specimens are still not terribly common. This attractive thumbnail sized piece features stout, rich green color Emerald crystal measuring 1.4 cm long sitting on matrix, with a few additional accenting Emeralds for nice touch. The termination is slightly interrupted where the crystal obviously grew against the pocket wall, but not damaged.
