This aquamarine cluster is a sculptural jewel, complete all around 360 degrees, and features sharp blue gem aquamarines with accents of white feldspar and black schorl tourmaline. It is a beautifully balanced combination piece of full miniature size, space filling, and dramatic. It is pristine.At the time they came out (acquired 2005), there were many - but now, this association and particular style is rarely seen on the market again. Valued at $2500, this specimen is from the author's own collection and is a cover of the important reference series mineral monograph books, Collector's Guide to the Beryl group, by Dr. Bob Lauf. Robert Lauf grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois, ultimately receiving a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering. His scientific career included over twenty years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he conducted research on topics ranging from nuclear fuel, coal by-products, materials synthesis, microwave processing, sensors, optical materials, and biomineralization.
