Beryl var: Aquamarine (with rare dark blue ''cap'')

From a new find in January of 2023, here we have a unique and certainly eye-catching specimen of Aquamarine from Shengus, Pakistan featuring a fairly compressed, sharp, lustrous, translucent hexagonal crystal of light blue colored Aquamarine, but what makes this one special is that it features a notably darker blue colored "cap" on the termination. When you rotate the crystal in the light, you can see that the dark blue area actually shows a rare "cat's eye" quality, not typically seen in Beryls from anywhere in Pakistan. A bit of attached Albite and Muscovite can be seen on the piece as well. Overall it's in good shape on the front / display side, and while it's not complete on the back, you can see still glistening striated prism faces, so there are some crystallized areas back there. Bi-colored Beryls are not terribly common around the world, but to find a piece with such a distinctive and richly colored variance in hue is definitely out of the ordinary. It's hard to say if there will be more of these, so if you collect gem crystals, pegmatite minerals or worldwide Beryls, don't pass up the chance to get your hands on something that stands out from the many Aquas from Pakistan on the market. It's hard to place a fair market value on a piece like this, but I would certainly put it in the $1,500-$2,000 range.
