When it comes to fine crystallized examples of Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the last 30 years. At this point, I think everyone would agree that the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens (especially matrix pieces) come from the various pegmatites in the high mountains of Pakistan, especially the pieces from around Shigar. This area has produced some of the most exciting Aquamarine crystals you'll see. This piece features a lovely, lustrous, soft blue color, very gemmy, prismatic hexagonal crystal of Aquamarine sitting atop white frosted Quartz crystals. There are some tiny nicks around the edges of the termination on the Aqua, but it's still a nice display specimen with good aesthetics and contrast from this most prestigious of Pakistani pegmatite localities.
