Item Description
Over the last few decades, many prolific pegmatite mineral localities in the high mountains of Pakistan have produced a plethora of beautiful crystallized display specimens. The Shigar Valley for many years has become famous for producing what are inarguably among the finest examples of Aquamarine in the world, and certainly the finest matrix specimens. Most people identify Pakistani Aquas with the Shigar Valley, where this attractive and showy small cabinet piece is from. The piece host a glassy, sharp, gemmy, soft blue color, hexagonal crystal of Aquamarine measuring 2.4 cm, aesthetically flaring off-white colored Albite matrix with associated dark golden Muscovite crystals. A secondary smaller Aqua can be seen next to the main crystal for a nice touch. No damage I can see, and this is just a good quality, showy display specimen of this classic material from this famous Aquamarine-producing area.
