Beryl var: Aquamarine with Muscovite

Pakistan has been arguably the best Aquamarine-producing nation over the last few decades. The size and quality of the crystals from the various pegmatites are certainly in the top tier for this blue variety of Beryl. This is a classic Aquamarine crystal group from the famed Chumar Bakhoor locality, outside of the Shigar Valley, but certainly one of the premier localities for gem Aquas in Pakistan. Several sharp, lustrous, VERY gemmy, hexagonal crystals are accompanied bladed silvery Muscovite, which is a common association for the locality. The largest Aqua measures about 4.7 cm long. Most of the crystals are in good condition, with no major damage on the terminations, and the only roughness is around the lower periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. Showy and good quality. A wonderful piece of this well-known material.
