Item Description

Pakistan is arguably the world leader in terms of fine crystallized specimens of Aquamarine. The large and impressive amount of pieces that have come out over the last 30+ years has been amazing, and some of the pieces found within the last few years are among the best matrix Aquamarine specimens in the world. Most people associate Pakistani Aquas with the Shigar Valley, but nearby in Nagar, some really gorgeous pieces have been found for many years. This attractive piece features fine, lustrous, sharp, gemmy, soft blue color, hexagonal crystals of Aquamarine measuring up to 2.4 cm, associatd with silvery bladed crystals of Muscovite forming a "flower"-shaped gropu. The Aquamarine crystals have classic basal terminations with a few small accenting pyramidal modifications. There are some imperfections, so the piece is not pristine, but it's still a good quality, showy display specimen of this classic material from Chumar Bakhoor.
