Beryl var. Aquamarine on Albite ex. Obodda

A lovely, lustrous and gemmy, sky blue aquamarine crystal measuring 5.5 cm in length, is perched on white albite. Accenting schorl crystals (unterminated) embedded in the albite add some contrast to the specimen. All of the aqua 's faces, save one, are slightly frosted in a really interestign manner that gives them sharp defiition and edging compared to the gemminess within. The terminal face is so limpid that the whole internal C axis of the crystal is easily discernible from that one face. Overall, a very balanced and beautiful, somewhat unusual aquamarine specimen in this size range. Old Obodda stock, valued $3000
