Item Description

A lovely miniature specimen from the famed Shigar Valley featuring a very sharp, highly lustrous, GEM/gemmy, beautiful icy blue color hexagonal prism of Aquamarine, with a smaller Aquamarine flaring out of the front, associated with white "rosettes" Albite var: Cleavelandite. There are some small dark reddish-black bladed crystals of an unknown mineral on the piece, possibly Rutile or maybe Tantalite-(Mn). The upper portion of the Aquamarine is literally WATER-CLEAR, and the lower portion is still quite gemmy though not 100% transparent. The main crystal is contacted on the base/bottom where it was separated from the pocket wall, but it's in great condition on the front/display side. The termination has an indentation with some Albite growth where it grew against the pocket wall, but it's not broken, and actually crystallized if you look closely. A lovely example of these wonderful classic Aquas from this world-renowned area that has produced some of the finest examples of the blue variety of Beryl ever found. Ex Brian Kosnar dealer stock.
