Beryl var: Aquamarine (doubly-terminated GEM crystal)

Item Description

A beautiful GEM QUALITY, soft blue colored, prismatic hexagonal crystal of Aquamarine from the famous locality at Shengus in the high mountains of Pakistan. The Aqua crystal has wonderful luster on the prism faces, along with the main basal termination. If you look closely, you can see some tiny pyramidal modifications where the termination meets the prism. The underside of the crystal at one point was detached from the pocket wall and then re-crystallized ("re-healed"), so it's a doubly-terminated crystal, and essentially a "floater". The piece is priced in the inventory at $900. This area has produced some of the most iconic Aquamarine crystals in the world in terms of supreme gemminess and excellent crystal form, and this piece is a great example of said material.
