Beryl var: Aquamarine (doubly-terminated)

When it comes to fine crystals of Aquamarine, some of the most recognized specimens have been found in the various pegmatite localities in Pakistan. Without a doubt, Pakistan has been the most productive country for specimens in the last 30+ years, as we've seen some spectacular examples on the market. Most people associate Pakistani Aquas with the Shigar Valley, but nearby in Nagar, some really gorgeous pieces have been found for many years. This attractive and showy miniature piece features a sharp, glassy, gemmy, soft blue color, hexagonal prismatic crystal of Aquamarine, free of matrix. The crystal features an excellent basal termination with attractive little modified pyramidal faces, and if you flip the piece over, you'll see the underside is actually re-crystallized ("re-healed"), so it's technically doubly-terminated. No major damage. Classic material from Chumar Bakhoor. Specimen weight is 75.6 grams.
