Beryl var: Aquamarine (doubly-terminated)

Item Description

The piece is a fine gemmy prismatic crystal group of Aquamarine with a classic light blue color, sharp, lustrous faces, and no matrix from the famed Shigar Valley. A tiny dusting of little black Tourmaline crystals on the back makes for a nice accent. Although the terminations are flat pinacoids, you can see tiny pyramidal modifications on few corners. This piece is very close to being a complete "floater" as it's crystallized all over, and even the underside is re-crystallized ("re-healed"), so it's actually doubly-terminated, as there are many tiny basal pinacoid faces that can be seen with magnification. There really isn't any damage of note that I can find with the naked eye. Specimen weight is 15 grams.
