Before the fine crystals of Aquamarine were found in Pakistan a few decades ago, it was difficult to get your hands on superb crystallized pieces of the blue variety of Beryl from most localities. Without question, the most exemplary crystals (both in terms of their form and quality) come from the many prolific pegmatite localities in the high mountains of Pakistan. Certainly the finest matrix specimens of Aquamarine have come from this country. Most people associate Pakistani Aquas with the Shigar Valley, but nearby in Nagar, some really gorgeous pieces have been found for many years. This fine quality and showy piece features a pair of excellent, glassy, sharp, GEMMY, soft blue color, hexagonal prismatic crystals of Aquamarine associated with beautiful bladed groups of silvery Muscovite. Sections of the Aquamarine crystals are virtually WATER-CLEAR. A very good quality, showy display specimen of this classic material from Chumar Bakhoor. Very minor edge-wear can be seen in few spots, but the piece is in very good condition. Priced in the inventory at $1,000.
