Item Description

Lovely and quite gemmy, this lustrous pair of Aquamarine crystals is from the California Blue Mine. They are doubly-terminated, with the main termination well-developed and white, while the lower terminations are partially etched as the piece tapers downward. The slight amount of etching on the prism faces creates texture and character. There is one repair, but that is not a surprise, as many Beryls and Tourmalines have undergone significant stresses over the millions of years after formation in this region. It is 10 grams. A very attractive, hard to find (and hard to mine!) miniature. From the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
