Few aquamarine pockets or styles get names and are memorable, but the "blue ice" style of the sculptural aquas from this one mine in Brazil have a special place in gem crystal lore and collecting: This is a classic example of the so called "blue ice sculptures" from old finds of Pedra Azul (several finds pre-1980) that have remained famous and desirable to this day. The crystal is a heavily etched single aquamarine, showing amazing and detailed patterns within and on the surface. They sparkle and glow in light with all the small edges. It is a complete floater all around, and weighs 80 grams. From the important beryl collection of Bill Larson, dating back to the 1970s.
