Item Description
Charming single crystal of a transparent, gemmy, sky blue Aquamarine from Brazil. The simply yet elegant hexagonal crystal has a flat termination with several growth hillock features both on the termination and vertically elongated on the side faces. It also exhibits uncommon second order faces, resembling bevels between the first order main hexagonal faces. The older piece is not pristine by any means having a few nicks but is in good condition. There does appear to be an old repair to the crystal based on UV at the horizontal line you see (old archaic glue that has dried up, so this could be taken apart and repaired more smoothly). Overall this is an appealing specimen with good color, interesting growth features and an uncommon crystal form. Mass is 144 grams. Ex. Jack Halpern Collection No. 785.
