Beryl var. Aquamarine

Item Description

A classic example of both etched and skeletal features in an Aquamarine crystal from Brazil that are not uncommon in the Pedra Azul pegmatite district. This aqua blue crystal is skeletal on one end where there is a good termination present and etched at the other where there there is more of a multiple termination, along with a Muscovite crystal. The "top" half of the crystal has been concentrically etched going down into the crystal at least a centimeter. This termination and the prism faces on the side are mostly gemmy and then more translucent toward the multiple termination end where there are subtle, but distinct pyramidal terminations present on the individual, parallel ends here. This blue beauty has a mass of 29.04 grams.
