Item Description

Aquamarine is well-known globally from various localities in Pakistan. These superb crystals are certainly among the best-known examples of this blue variety of Beryl ever found. People marvel at the impressive amount of top quality crystals that have been found in the last 30 years, and honestly the best pieces have only been found within the last few years. Most of what you'll see on the market comes out of the famous Shigar Valley but the nearby Chumar Bakhoor locality in the Nagar Valley, is one of the most well-known localities for Aquamarine in Pakistan outside of Shigar. This piece features a predominant, gemmy, glassy, very sharp and well-formed, textbook hexagonal prism with that classic icy blue color measuring 3.0 cm, which is associated with accenting crystals of equal quality. No major damage, and if you look closely, the "contacted" areas are actually re-crystallized ("re-healed"), and it appears that the piece is a complete "floater", with no real damage as it's crystallized all over. Perhaps my favorite aspect of the piece are the small pyramidal modifications around the corners of the terminations on the crystals. Great quality, very showy and a classic example of this famous material.
