Item Description

Beryl specimens are rare from this more obscure Elba Island locality, better known for tourmaline specimens. Two terminated, glassy, ice-blue beryl crystals to 8 mm across are nestled in a quartz crystal matrix. Nearby is the broken base of a bi-colored tourmaline crystal. There are also a cluster of broken schorls on the quartz. Showy, highly representative and rare combination material from this locality from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and purchased from the Pisa Mineralogical Museum at Bologna in 1986.
