Item Description
California's White Queen Mine is justifiably famous for its outstanding pink Beryls (Morganites). Mined by Norm Dawson and his family around the 1960s, they are considered true USA Classics. This miniature has two nicely-formed Beryl crystals on a Smoky Quartz crystal. The tabular Beryl is GEMMY and GLASSY, and 1.2 across, while the prismatic, hexagonal Beryl is gemmy, partially frosted, 0.8 cm long, and it has a slightly pink blush to it. While not nearly the level of its famous cousins from the White Queen, it nonetheless is still a good, representative piece. Recently deaccessed from the Tim Sherburn collection.
