Beryl (doubly-terminated) (ex Rich Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A wonderful old-time Beryl crystal from Itinga, Brazil. The piece is a complete doubly-terminated "floater" pencil with nearly 100% gem transparency and a soft greenish-yellow hue. Gentle etching lines can be seen on the surface, giving a slight textural appearance. A gorgeous crystal of these now seldom seen pieces. The piece was mined circa 1973-1975 and comes from the collection of Richard Kosnar, who had a strong presence in Brazil during that time, importing a large quantity of pegmatite minerals. The crystal would make a great addition to any gem crystal suite, especially since gem Beryls from Brazil are truly difficult to find on the market these days.
