Item Description
This is an attractive and certainly unusual near "floater" specimen of brilliant, white Bertrandite crystals, intergrown into an almost "lacey" group, free of matrix or any associated minerals. This is by no means a typical style for this rare beryllium silicate, but we've had a few piece of this specific material in the past, so I know they're genuine. Typically, Bertrandite groups are almost "fan" or "spray"-shaped but these particular specimens from Golconda stand out, not only for their unusual form, but they are notably lustrous for the species. If you collect rarities, pegmatite mineral or specimens from Brazil, this is a really cool example from a find that dates back to the 1980s era of mining.
Ex Colin Manlove collection.
