Item Description

A good quality specimen featuring attractive, sharp, well-formed, lustrous cream colored, FREE-standing Bertrandite crystals with and on a GEM/gemmy, lightly colored Smoky Quartz crystal on matrix. Additional groups of green Muscovite and beige Rhodochrosite(?) can be seen throughout the piece. I love the fact that the Bertrandite group on the matrix is not lying flat, but standing up, and then another group can be seen on the Smoky Quartz. The piece displays well from either side, and it was valued at $1200 by Herb Obodda several years ago, and certainly worth more today on the retail market. Good crystallzied Bertrandites are not common, and certainly worthwhile for anybody who collects rare minerals in good display quality specimens. This locality is probably best known for its fine quality Bertrandite specimens.
