Item Description
A good quality specimen featuring attractive, sharp, well-formed, lustrous cream colored, FREE-standing Bertrandite crystals with Quartz on matrix. I love the fact that the Bertrandite group is studded with tiny cubic Pyrites, what a great touch. The piece displays well from either side, and even though it's a large thumbnail / toenail, it was valued at $500 by Herb Obodda several years ago, and certainly worth more today on the retail market. Good crystallzied Bertrandites are not common, and certainly worthwhile for anybody who collects rare minerals in good display quality specimens. This locality might be best known for its attractive purple Creedite specimens, but for a short time in the 1990s, it produced some really attractive Bertrandites.
