Item Description

A fine quality specimen of broad, distinct, good sized, LUSTROUS crystals of cream colored Bertrandite from the lesser known Hayes locality at Greenwood. When I first say this piece, I thought it was some kind of mica based upon the pearlescent luster. There is some minor edge-wear, but not all that bad considering the quality of the innermore crystals. A MORE than worthwhile specimen of this good quality and hard to find material from the collection of noted and now deceased Colorado geologist, Allen Heyl (from whom the mineral Aheylite was named). If you collect Maine pegmatites, or just good quality U.S. pegmatite specimens, don't miss out on this one.
