Item Description
Beraunite and strunzite are uncommon hydrated iron phosphates found in complex zoned granitic pegmatites. A 1.5 cm vug is richly lined with tufts of scintillating, green beraunite needles and hosts a few white strunzite needles. This rich specimen is from the New England collection of Robert Whitmore. Not pretty to look at unless you use a scope, but it hosts two rare phosphate species. Dated 1974. Bob was the owner of the mine and discovered many new minerals here
