Item Description

Benitoite is of course the state gem of California, and found NOWHERE else in the world in any kind of quality. Specimens like this are simply now a relic of past USA history and mining, and should not be coming out again as the location is nearly exhausted. This is a large, balanced, important miniature with a single dramatic and perfect, undamaged crystal measuring precisely 1 inch tall , right in the middle of a well trimmed matrix! It has just the right amount of white natrolite for contrast, and seeral nice secondary crystals that are oriented perpendicular to the major crystal, so they show contrasting sharp edges pointing outwards which only serves to accent the HUGE middle triangle all the more. This is a phenomenal miniature. The balance, size, and aesthetics make it important. Valued $10-15,000
